Yet Neda’s death has most certainly bloodied the waters.
Neda, the brave, young woman gunned down while participating in the protests, continues to be a “rallying cry” across Iran and around the planet. In a most horrifically disturbing video, Neda is not lying in the street, she is dropping, bleeding and dying in the street; her final gaze briefly connecting with the camera. The world now shares the shocked look in her beautiful eyes.
The hard-lined theocratic government, including Ahmadinejad and the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei continue to miss the overall impact of the last 72 hours in Tehran. To quote a true “Supreme Leader”, Mahatma Gandhi, “First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win.”
