Sometimes I get too worked up to type; too caught up to use a keyboard. Commentaries surface so quickly, the only way to vent them properly is by giving them a voice. Breaking news that needs a bit of banter, a touch of thinking out loud. Stories I think you need to hear about, literally. For me, the BuriedLogic Audio blog posts are the only way to go. Are you familiar with the term “Return to Vendor?”
It references a malfunctioning, damaged or defective product. Once identified, the faulty product needs to be removed from the retail store by returning it to its original vendor. Got to get it off the shelves! You have a piece of defective gear, you return it.
When you show a depraved, brutal indifference to Human Life, you in turn, set your shelf life.
When your actions evince a vicious disregard for the life of another, you have an expiration date.

Of all the memories I have of Hurricane Katrina, it is the total sense of helplessness that so many survivors felt in its aftermath.
Many had grown comfortable in the knowledge that they could pick up the phone, that it would have a dial tone, that an emergency 911 operator would answer their call for and connect them with an available paramedic or other rescue professional. As we now know, nothing could be farther from the truth.
In Buried Logic, I often ask, “When you can’t call on anyone else, can you call on your self?” Survival through self-reliance is the key!

1. Always have a First Aid Kit with you in your home, car, RV, boat or hotel room. I pick Adventure Medical Kits, because of the hospital quality instruments, designed by a medical doctor. Check out the E-Z Care System with step by step instructions on just what to do in an emergency.
2. KNOW BEFORE YOU GO. Grab your new first aid kit, dump it out, familiarize yourself with it’s contents and how to use them. In those opening, powerfully stressful few seconds of an emergency, you can’t waste precious time second guessing yourself or your gear. Check it out, learn it if you don’t know it and be comfortable with the contents of your first aid kit before you go. Remember to Replenish the contents as needed.
3. Add-ons to count on. Check out BLISTER MEDIC combining GlacierGel, Pre-cut Moleskin, alcohol wipes and antiseptic wipes. The SOL Survival Pak is another great add on as well as QuikCLot, a chemically inert material in a mesh bag that speeds coagulation of blood, resulting in a stable clot that stops bleeding.
4. Are you certified in CPR or emergency first aid? Why not? Certification is quick, easy and could very well save the life of a loved one.
5. Learn and practice the B.E.S.T. Acronym for all impromptu emergency situations.
The best first aid plan is the one you envision long before you need it.
