So you thought, perhaps aloud, that the Air Force One Manhattan photo flyover was a blunder? We learned that President Obama was ‘Furious‘ about that debacle. How do you think he is taking this one? Round two of “YOU have got to be kidding me” took place this morning when a U.S. Coast Guard training incident along the Potomac River sparked panic and triggered an emergency response.
Once again, the Federal agency emergency operations centers were not aware of nor were they notified about the exercise which included simulated gunfire. The Coast Guard didn’t alert other agencies as to the “routine exercise.” WOW. Kept in the dark, they sprang into action thinking the threat a real one.
According to CNN, “The training incident took place as Obama was traveling across the Memorial Bridge following an event at the Pentagon shortly before 10 a.m. ET.”
Here is the picture. Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel walks into the oval office to notify President Obama that, yet again, one hand of the government can’t be bothered to let other divisions into “the know.”
“Mr. President. You are going to find this nearly impossible to believe, sir.”
